26.11.2010 - KBA Open House at Schaffrath
65.000 cph, short make-ready-times at format & plate changes, quick restart with minimum start-up waste - the new C16 press from KBA showed itself from its best side.
The Post Press side was equally convincing: it processed both production types (1 x logs, 1 x trim and stack) safely and at a very high quality. The Post Press make-ready-times were less then the format change times on the press side. This is also largely due to the robot. It identifies the necessary gripper acording to the production type and automatically changes the tool if necessary.
The two Live-productions showed the high flexibility of the Post Press System, which processes semi-finished products into logs and trimmed products into stacks. The logs and stacks are palletized automatically. In detial the system consists of floor- and overhead conveyors, an RS 830 trimming line, an RS 36S compensating stacker with blocking units, an RS 610 horizontal log stacker and the RS 400 palletizing robot.
The focus on efficiency is also clearly visible in the layout - trimming line as well as robot can be used by a second press in the future.
