7.10.2011 - Rising Sun - Productivity boost!

The Durban printer Rising Sun, part of the Caxton CTP Group, replaced their existing post press equipment behind their Goss Community press with RIMA-SYSTEM's latest compensating stacker and conveying system. With the new compensating stacker RS-36S installed and running, Rising Sun was able to reduce the number of operators in their mail room significantly. The increased performance and the superior bundle quality could be seen especially on low pagination / low grammage products (4p tabloid at 48.8 gsm newsprint) which were very hard to produce before!

Mr. Vijai Maharaj, owner of Rising Sun, was happy with the results: "We did have our doubts and reservations as to how the stacker is going to work, considering our application (paper off the press onto a right angle conveyor going up to the 2nd floor). I am pleased to report that it seems to work very well, even the 4 pager which is a very light weight product. We have tested the 4 pager up to the 24 pager and all the products seem to be stacking very well. We are pleased with the machine"

For this reason, the two leading finishing specialists, RIMA-System and Muller Martini have signed a cooperation agreement, which will enable them to use shared synergies and offer their customers perfect, customized solutions.

26.7.2011 - Baumann Druck grows with RIMA-SYSTEM

The web offset printer Baumann Druck in Kulmbach which belongs to the Mediengruppe Oberfranken in Bamberg (www.mediengruppe-oberfranken.de) has again decided for a for a fully automatic RIMA-SYSTEM Post Press System behind their new Lithoman IV 64p (Autoplate) press. The Mediengruppe Oberfranken combines the business segments newspaper and commercial publishers, book and specialist publishers, electronic media, editorial offices, printing houses and distribution services. In the printing segment of the Mediengruppe Oberfranken more than 300 employees produce inserts, magazines, flyers, brochures, newspapers, catalogues and books at two locations in Bamberg and Kulmbach: a heatset printing plant (Baumann Druck), a coldset printing plant (Presse Druck Oberfranken) and a sheetfed printer (creo Druck & Medienservice).

21.04.2011 - Modern Technology for Weiss-Druck

Weiss-Druck, one of the leading printers in Germany, has invested in the first 96p Lithoman S press to be installed at their plant in Monschau. With a possible output of 4.32 million pages/hour they will push into an area of productivity which was the domain of rotogravure plants up to now.

To be able to handle the massive volume of paper in the Post Press area, Weiss-Druck decided for completely automated stacking lines and palletizing robots from RIMA-SYSTEM. Three stacking lines, consisting of RS 36S indexing stackers, RS 120 high-speed blocking units and three modern RS 400 four-axis robots guarantee the safe handling of the copies to the finished pallet. The integrated job optimizer software PALETTI9 ensures the exact processing of all order data and helps to minimize over-production: the productivity increases.

Already in the past Weiss-Druck was a user of RIMA-SYSTEM Post Press technology and was able to fully optimize his new and existing installations with investments in RS 400 palletizing robots. With the latest installation Weiss-Druck is going to be the biggest user of RIMA-SYSTEM 4-axis robots worldwide.

29.03.2011 - Hansaprint invests in new Post Press

After a reliable service & support for many years and having already good experience with their RIMA-SYSTEM equipment, Hansaprint, the biggest printing group in Finland, replaced an existing Post Press system behind their KBA 215 press with our latest stacking & palletizing technology. The ultra-compact design of the layout and great testimonials from other printers in the Nordics convinced Hansaprint to go for their 5^th robot installation from RIMA-SYSTEM!

After a smooth start-up the plant manager Mikko Saarela was especially happy with the performance of the new indexing stacker RS 36S. Not only was it handling all products at maximum press speed (even with small bundles) but it was also working well with low paginations / low grammage products (2p A3/A4 well below 50gsm!) resulting in very nice, stable stacks.
