It was the biggest order for a web offset press signed at Drupa 2012. This year the largest heatset press of the world – consisting of two 80p manroland Lithoman IV presses which can run in Duplex mode – is going into production at Kraft-Schlötels in Wassenberg, Germany.

As a complement to the automatic palletizing systems, CIVIEMME-SYSTEM proposes a wide range of products dedicated to pallet transport.
Our range includes:
- Empty pallet dispensers
- Roller or chain conveyors
- Turntables with or without transport device on board
- 90° and sorting modules
- Lifting modules for empty or full pallets
- Accumulation module systems
All these components can be easuily combined and configured to cover several different transport needs.
Besides proposing our standard configurations, we are able to study and realize customized solutions according to the customer's needs and the type of pallet.
The heavy-duty construction and the high quality materials ensure the efficency and the duration with low managing and maintenance costs.

PL 09 Manual clamp
The PL 09 clamp allows the pick-up, movement and palletizing of strapped logs. The operator manually moves the log clamp, which is fixed on a jib crane, a steel structure or on an air balancer and picks up the log on the delivery table of the log stacker. The up and down movements are motorized and controlled by the operator from the commands (buttons) mounted on the log clamp. Once the open log clamp is correctly placed on top of the log, the operator closes the log clamp and picks up the log. The operator can now manoeuvre the log (up and down electrically, left and right manually) to the pallet, place it into the right position and remove it.

Investing in a new machine makes no sense? In this case a stock machine with the right price-performance ratio could be the right alternative. Have a look at our informative and well documented online used machines list. You will find e.g. trimmers, stackers, log stackers and palletizers from our own production or from third-party manufacturers.
Two of the most successful companies in Post Press join forces. The two independant, family-owned companies agree on a cooperation contract. The improved world-wide sales and service network is a great benefit for customers, especially in remote regions. The first succesful combined projects are realized. The new, strong cooperation offers the widest product portfolio in heatset, coldset and rotogravure.
On DRUPA 2012 RIMA-SYSTEM presents itself as a continuously solid company, that offers heavy-duty Post Press machinery for the printing industry. Besides many news and improvements in machinery and software, the continuity in the team has been well received by customers and partners. Many long-standing, successful partnerships have been renewed again.

C16, C32, C48 – there is one thing common to these new presses from KBA: they have all been equipped with Post Press from RIMA-SYSTEM.

In 2011 Hansaprint installed a complete Post Press system from RIMA-SYSTEM behind their existing KBA C215 press. The system includes an RS 36S high-speed indexing stacker which was performing very well with difficult products (even 2p Tab) at high speeds. Being very satisfied with the machine, Hansaprint decided to replace two of their existing stackers with the RS 36S to increase efficiency.

One of the biggest rotogravure projects in the last years has been commissioned recently by Bruckmann Tiefdruck in Oberschleißheim, Germany. Bruckmann belongs since 1999 to the TSB group, one of the biggest non-editorial european printers. Located in Bavaria, the plant is ideally suited to deliver quickly to the markets in Southern Germany and Southern Europe.
Three out of their four rotogravure presses will in the future be equipped with complete Post Press systems from RIMA-SYSTEM. One of the most important factors was the ability to integrate complete Post Press systems with palletizing robots into the limited available space.

El Comercio in Lima, Peru, has upgraded their two M600 commercial presses with RS 34S lift stackers. The decision was made after a successful test installation in which the RS 34S outperformed the model from the competition.
Picture: Erwin Gamarra (RIMA-SYSTEM Agency Peru) with Ignacio Prado (Manager of Operations at El Comercio) in front of the two new RS 34S lift stackers.

Two years after the investment in a complete system for the high speed Rotoman (Video) Mediagraf invested in new system. It will automate the delivery of an existing press and significantly reduce manual labor.

In the long lasting relationship with Grafiche Boccia in Salerno several different solutions have been installed, from complete lines behind their presses to bindery solutions with steel structure and log clamps. The latest order includes a trimming line and a compensating stacker to be placed behind their Komori 32p press.

After the investment into a RS 36S stacker for their newspaper plant in Caracas now also the commercial plant of Cadena Capriles has invested into modern automation for their three commercial web presses. A ST2000 log stacker with PL 86 palletizer will handle the stream delivered from the Lithoman while two RS 34S stackers will handle the two streams coming from the double stream Baker Perkins.

Not long after the agreement with KBA for a new C16 press at DRUPA, B&K Offsetdruck ordered the complete Post Press from RIMA-SYSTEM.
The new pess is designed for the production of high quality magazines and the corresponding covers. Five printing units with automated plate change produce at a maximum speed of up to 65.000rph.
To avoid a bottleneck in the Post Press area, B&K decided to choose a fully automated solution from RIMA-SYSTEM. An RS 831 rotary trimmer, an RS 36S lift stacker and a new RS 610 horizontal log stacker turn the trimmed and untrimmed products into neat stacks & logs. An RS 400 robot ensures the safe palletizing of all products. Format changes are made at a central commander. The machines preset automatically with motorized adjustments.

Continuity and reliability – Klaus Kalthoff appointed President at RIMA-SYSTEM
Effective April 1st, Klaus Kalthoff has been appointed President of RIMA-SYSTEM, the leading solution provider for Post Press. Klaus Kalthoff is with the company since more than 15 years and for the last 4 years he has been serving as Executive Vice President. « His appointment is a commitment to continuity, stability and reliability – internally and externally » say Axel B. Tuebke and Horst Steinhart, owners of RIMA-SYSTEM.

In addition to the installation of high quality complete solutions behind new presses, RIMA-SYSTEM has optimized and extended very successfully existing Post Press systems to increase the overall productivity. Latest examples are Datamill and Rotolito Lombarda in Italy. At Datamill an existing installation comprised of overhead conveyors and CIVIEMME vertical log stackers has been moved to make room for two trimming lines and RS 36S lift stackers. At Rotolito an RS 400 four-axis robot has replaced an existing palletizer whch was very unreliable and caused high maintenance costs.

In short intervals three new customers decided for the fully automatic "JOB OPTIMIZER" solution from RIMA-SYSTEM. Besides Corlet Roto in France (new C16 press from KBA) and Moderna in Belgium (new Rotoman from manroland), Janssen Pers in the Netherlands (new C32 press from KBA) was the latest customer to order a complete Post Press system from RIMA-SYSTEM.
While the installations in France and Belgium are almost ready for start-up, the system in Gennep, Netherlands, is scheduled for first production in July.

With 14 sites in Sweden, V-TAB is Scandinavia's biggest printing group. To increase productivity in thier print plants V-TAB was looking for efficient automation systems for their existing presses. After critical comparison between different systems, the customer decided for the robot technology from RIMA-SYSTEM. In January and February two plants started up the new Post Press systems. In Norrahammar two RS 36S lift stackers and a conventional robot was installed behind a DGM press while in Södertälje a special high-speed robot was taken into operation with great results.

The biggest printing group in Austria, Leykam Let's Print, is expanding its site in Müllendorf with another 48p Lithoman IV press. Together with two more 48p presses and a 64p press, Müllendorf is specialized in high volume printing in the group. Customers in whole Europe expect high quality print products, quickly and reliably produced.
High volume production means tight calculations. Down-times are to be avoided at all costs and waste has to be kept as low as possible. With a price per copy more or less "dictated" by the market, the performance and automation on press and post press decide about profitability of a job.
The Leykam group knows the RIMA-SYSTEM Post Press installations very well and is one of the biggest customers worldwide. A total of fifteen RS 400 palletizing robots (most of them integrated into Leykam's fully automated pallet logistic system) within the group, help to optimize production processes and keep the manning behind presses low.

The Durban printer Rising Sun, part of the Caxton CTP Group, replaced their existing post press equipment behind their Goss Community press with RIMA-SYSTEM's latest compensating stacker and conveying system. With the new compensating stacker RS-36S installed and running, Rising Sun was able to reduce the number of operators in their mail room significantly. The increased performance and the superior bundle quality could be seen especially on low pagination / low grammage products (4p tabloid at 48.8 gsm newsprint) which were very hard to produce before!
Mr. Vijai Maharaj, owner of Rising Sun, was happy with the results: "We did have our doubts and reservations as to how the stacker is going to work, considering our application (paper off the press onto a right angle conveyor going up to the 2nd floor). I am pleased to report that it seems to work very well, even the 4 pager which is a very light weight product. We have tested the 4 pager up to the 24 pager and all the products seem to be stacking very well. We are pleased with the machine"
