The complete Post Press system consists of floor and overhead conveyors, one RS 840 double stream trimming line with electrical format adjustment, two RS 32 high-speed stackers with direct-coupled RS 110 blocking units, two RS 600 log stackers as well as one palletizing cell with two RS 400 palletizing robots for stacks and logs with an automatic slip sheet feeder and pallet dispenser.
The production of the two folder deliveries is directed on two production lines via floor conveyors to a central waste ejection system, where start-up, blanket washing and splicer waste is ejected. Good copies are transported for three side trimming to the RS 840 double stream trimming line. Alternatively, untrimmed products can bypass the trimming line. Via floor respectively overhead conveyors, trimmed and untrimmed products of both production lines are transported to divert gates, which direct the production either to a stacking line or to an RS 600 log stacker. The in-line divert gates also let the machines act as a backup to each other. In consideration of the limited space in the production rooms, spiral conveyors ensure the spacesaving transport of products without any shift of copies.
The RS 600 log stacker turns untrimmed production into perfect logs even at the highest speed. The logs are strapped before they are ejected to the delivery table. Finished products are turned into neat and stable stacks by the RS 32 high-speed stackers. The stacks are ejected via an intelligent servo-pusher system onto the synchronized delivery belts which directs them to the direct-coupled RS 110 blocking units. The RS 110 compress and electrostatically charge the stacks which can also be single- or cross-strapped in a strapping unit.
The finished logs or stacks are picked up by an RS 400 palletizing robot and are put smoothly and precisely onto an automatically delivered pallet. To additionally stabilize the pallet, slip sheets are put onto the pallet by the robot arm. Full pallets are automatically ejected and are replaced by an empty one, making palletizing a fully automated process.
