The Post Press system consists of floor and overhead conveyors, two RS 840 double-stream trimming lines, a total of four stacking lines with RS 36 stackers, RS 110 blocking units and cross-strapping machines, four RS 600 log stackers as well as two palletizing cells, each with two RS 400 high-speed robot arms.
The production of the PCF/PFF folder is transported via floor conveyors to the central waste copy system where start-up, blanket washing and slicer waste is ejected. Good copies are directed for three side trimming to the RS 840 trimming line. Alternatively, untrimmed productions can bypass the trimming line. After this, trimmed or untrimmed productions are transported via overhead conveyors to the RS 600 log stackers or to two stacking lines.
Modern servo-drives and continuous stacking technology ensure high quality logs which are strapped and then transported to the delivery tables. Finished products are turned into neat stacks by the RS 36 indexing stacker. Thanks to an intelligent servo-pusher system, the bundles are ejected safely into the direct-coupled RS 110 blocking unit which compresses and electrostatically charges the stacks. The stacks can also be single- or cross-strapped before they are transported to the RS 400 palletizing robots.
Logs and stacks are picked up by the RS 400 palletizing robot which smoothly puts them onto the automatically delivered pallet at maximum speed. To further stabilize the pallets, the robot can place slip sheets on each layer, making the palletizing process a full automated process.
Another highlight is the implementation of digital workflow. PPMS-Software and JOB TICKET enable to control all set-up data and are responsible for the transmission of data and the feedback of machines. This allows a fast and easy electric configuration of the whole Post Press System depending on actual production and reduces time-consuming and expensive manual configuration and monitoring.
In addition, the production lines of the complete Post Press system are monitored and visualized via PATHFINDER-Software. In case of malfunction, the software allows to re-direct all productions to back-up lines.
